The most important this about being a nanny is making sure that the child is well taken care of and feels comfortable at all times. Seeing the joy they have when they see you and the feeling when you know that they have trust in you.
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have a lot of experience with special needs children. The only ‘experience’ I have is when we would have family reunions and my two cousins with down syndrome would have episodes and then I would try to follow what their parents would say would calm them down.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I took my niece to target and I was not prepared with her baby carrier and I had to hold her the whole duration of the trip and then walking out to my car and seeing the baby carrier in the passenger seat; after my arm was numb and tired from holding her for a extended period of time. I just laughed and put the carrier in the stroller for next time use.
