More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have volunteered in aftercare programs, worked as a reading camp counselor, done transportation before and afterschool, provided in-home assistance with children including homework, mealtimes, playtime, and bedtime routines.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing arts and crafts, creating new games on our own or playing games that are already there, going for walks, playground visits, reading books, and any other interest that the child may have.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny for me is providing a safe space for the child(ren) I care for to be open to being themselves, having a great time, helping them to manage their feelings and be comfortable having them, and making sure they not only feel safe but are safe in my presence.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my most memorable moments as a nanny was helping a 2-year-old little girl who was terrified of her shadow. Every time she saw it following her, she’d cry and try to outrun it. I gently turned it into a game — introducing her shadow as her "sunny day friend" who only comes out to play when the light is just right. We named it “Shay” and made up stories about all the adventures Shay wanted to go on with her. Over time, she began to laugh when she saw her shadow and even waved to it in the driveway. Watching her go from fear to friendship with something so simple was a beautiful reminder of how imagination and patience can turn scary things into safe, joyful ones.
