More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a second grade teacher in South Korea for three years. I was responsible for their wellbeing and academic success which I took great pride in. The best thing for a child's success is finding a balance with empathy, structure, and teamwork. I believe children having a strong support system from parents and caretakers working in tandem for best of the child is important, and children's emotions should be validated and heard. However, I do also believe children need structure and reasonable consequences to best understand how to navigate how best to navigate and interact with their community.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities I have done in the past with children:
-science experiments such as making a tornado in a bottle and oobleck
-arts and crafts (I am an aspiring children's book illustrator and really enjoy incorporating arts and crafts in the day)
-book clubs (I started and hosted many book clubs in and outside my classroom where I encouraged many students to become readers with books such as "Charlotte's Web" and "Sisters Grimm"
-Going to the park (when the weather is appropriate)

One of my favorite moments was when I had a snowball fight with the children. It was a lot of fun, and they enjoyed teaming up, chasing me and making snowmen.
