More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I work as a choreographer, director, teaching artist, and camp counselor for kids as well! A lot of my child care experience comes from the theatre, and I have received fantastic training from some of Boston's top theatrical professionals.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

INDOOR:
- music lessons! piano, bass guitar, drum kit, voice
- baking! cookies, cakes, an occasional soufflé (if I can get it to rise)
- reading! teaching them to read OR re-reading their favorite books
- acting/comedy! I love teaching the kids all of my favorite theatre games

OUTDOOR:
- soccer! I played for 5 years, and would love to scrimmage (safely, of course)
- baseball/t-ball/softball! I also played for 5 years and can teach the kids the rules of the game
- fairy houses! this is super popular for kids who love imaginative outdoor games

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think it's fostering open and honest communication with the family, and truly caring for one another. A nanny is an extension of the family, and I think overall respect and care for each other as well as the kids are really important.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for kids with:

- Anxiety Disorders, Social Anxiety included
- Eating Disorders
- Depression, Bipolar Disorder and Mood Disorders

Every year, I make sure to continue to educate myself on each of these disorders so that I can not only accommodate the kids I care for, but make the job a little bit easier on the parent. By being empathetic, understanding, and patient, I have been able to successfully care for kids with any of the disorders listed above. Through continued education and accountability, I do my best to provide safe and trauma-informed care.
