A little bit about me

I'm looking for a family who needs roughly 4 days per week of regular care. There is flexibility though.

I'm a fun but firm babysitter, crunchy, and Christian, looking for a like minded family. I generally love taking kids out and about to libraries and parks. I’ve babysat on and off since I was 14, have been a live-in nanny, and was with a family full time with a 1 and 2 year old for a few years after college. I’m comfortable with all ages.

I just gave birth to my first daughter in September and am looking for a family that doesn’t mind her being with me and or a family who is looking to have their child with another kid, but not in a daycare setting. This could work well for a 3 or 4 year old girl, for example, who likes babies and would enjoy being around a baby all day. I’m looking to start in April but could start earlier if needed.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

For over 10 years I have been a babysitter or nanny to a wide variety of families and children. I have the most experience with 1-5 years old, have been a live-in nanny, worked with special needs children, and just had my first baby in September!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I really like being active with kids, everything from just playing outside or at a local park, to going to the beach and children's museums, etc. When at home I encourage some independent play but will also get down on the floor and engage.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Obviously safety comes first. But after that, trust. The parents putting trust in the nanny, the nanny giving her trust to the children, and the children feeling comfortable to trust the nanny. The deeper importance though is having the great responsibility of helping to raise a child.

My experience with special needs children...

I have an older brother with autism and so having that experience growing up, I then went on to work with 2 families with similar high functioning abilities, one boy 8 years old and a then a 16 year old girl.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I become very attached to the toddlers I was a nanny for in Connecticut and there were so many favorite moments. Seeing them excited when I would show up, putting them to bed at night, playing hide and go seek, taking them to the train station (which they loved)- too many good moments to capture here.
