I work as a substitute teacher at an after-school program and volunteer at a private elementary school in Boulder. I have babysat for as long as I can remember, and have experience caring for children from ages 3mo-12. Since I work at a school, I have been fingerprinted, received safe environment training, CPR trained, and am a mandatory reporter.

In the aftercare program I take part in, a 3rd grader I have known for a year now did not know how to tie his shoes, so we sat down and worked at it until he got it. It was rewarding for both of us, and I was able to apply my college education to his learning goals and help him regulate when he was getting frustrated.
