A little bit about me

Hi! I'm Joey. Working with children has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. As the oldest of three siblings, I spent years helping care for my younger siblings before going on to work as a babysitter, camp counselor, swim instructor, craft instructor, pediatric CNA for oncology patients, and now a Master Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) working with autistic children ages 1–6.

I love art, crafts, science, nature, reading, and creative play, and I enjoy sharing those passions with the children I work with through hands-on activities and exploration.

While I've loved working in hospitals, camps, and clinics, I'm looking for a role where I can build a longer-term relationship with a family. One of my favorite parts of working with children is getting to know their unique personalities and helping them grow over time. I love finding activities that match each child's interests and personality! Some of my favorites include arts and crafts, reading together, imaginative play, building forts, outdoor adventures, nature walks, playground trips, swimming, science experiments, baking, and sensory activities. I enjoy helping children explore the world around them through hands-on learning, creativity, and play. Whether we're making origami boxes and hunting for bugs outside, creating a masterpiece with paint, or having a dance party in the living room, my goal is always to make learning fun while helping children build confidence, curiosity, and independence.

The most important part of being a nanny is building a relationship based on trust, consistency, and genuine care. Children thrive when they feel safe, supported, and understood, and parents deserve to feel confident that their child is in good hands. I believe a nanny should not only help keep children safe and engaged, but also encourage their curiosity, confidence, and independence while becoming a positive and reliable part of the family's life.

I currently work as a Master Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where I support young children with autism in developing communication, social, play, and daily living skills. I have experience working with children with a wide range of abilities, support needs, communication styles, and sensory preferences. My approach is patient, compassionate, and child-centered, with a focus on helping each child feel safe, understood, and successful. I also have experience collaborating closely with families and other professionals to support children's growth and independence.
