My experience with special needs children...
I have grown up with a strong connection to the special needs community. My mom is a special needs teacher, so I have always been exposed to inclusive education and the importance of creating supportive environments. I also have a cousin with special needs, which has given me personal insight into the value of patience, compassion, and celebrating individual strengths. In addition, I was actively involved in Best Buddies throughout high school and college, where I built meaningful friendships, participated in inclusive activities, and gained hands-on experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
