Hello, it is lovely to meet you, my name is Joycemarie and I am looking forward to being your next caregiver, babysitter, nanny, or pet sitter (looking for Part-Time mornings/nights). I am happy cooking, cleaning, doing pick ups/drop offs, errands, and more! I can smoothly transition play time into education/home-work time, and the reason I enjoy working with children is being able to see the world through new eyes. Safety and health are always top priorities for me- I am First Aid/ CPR certified, but willing to obtain more certs. When I am not working you can find me playing outdoors whatever the season, beginning endless arts + crafts projects, writing poetry, enjoying stand up comedy, or having dance parties in my room with my cat Lilo. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Teachers assistant at the Bay Area Children’s Discovery Museum, naturalist for wilderness outdoor school, camp guide/counselor for a diverse array of camps including underprivileged and at-risk youth programming, summer day camps, and nature sleep away camps, and have tutored for various ages through education outreach programs. Involved with the Girl Scouts program as both a volunteer and paid staff.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I most enjoy engaging in the activities that the children I am caring for are most excited for! In addition: arts and crafts, exploring as much as possible in nature or at a park (4-leaf clover hunting has been my latest hobby! but also observing plants, trees, the sky, animals while also getting to play around), playing make-pretend and seeing to what far away lands and places our imaginations can take us, and engaging in educational activities ranging from interactive skills learning to reading/acting out books to making games out of chores and homework. I also enjoy sports activities (Eventhough I may not be the best at them!) as I grew up heavily involved in soccer, softball, and dance/cheer… as I’ve gotten older have discovered I truly just enjoy trying any new sport so have been dipping my toes in everything from extreme sports including skateboarding and snowboarding to ball sports ranging from tennis and volleyball.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Providing a safe, supportive, and enriching environment in order to hold space for children so that they may feel empowered and free to discover their "best selves", while growing and learning through engaging, and grounding activities

My experience with special needs children...

Studied adaptive youth recreation leisure programming and administration in college and completed 100+ hours of volunteer work in ADA youth parks + rec. Have experience tutoring and caring for children with special needs including those on the autism spectrum and children with learning disabilities. I additionally have experience managing behavioral needs and accommodations.
