Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a teen counselor at Camp Simon’s, where I had the opportunity to engage children in a wide range of exciting activities such as swimming, canoeing, archery, arts and crafts, and sports like wiffle ball and kickball. This role allowed me to ensure the safety of the children while gaining and homing in on skills that would help me attend to kids better such as leadership skills. During my time at Camp Simon’s I was supervising and guiding children throughout different activities. Another skill I picked up from camp Simon’s is to communicate whether it was with fellow counselors or in this case with the parents to formulate a plan ahead of time when I’m watching their children. Most importantly my experience at camp Simon’s gave me more experience with working along side with children. Additionally, Caring for my 3 siblings and babysitting for family friends further honed my childcare skills and sense of responsibility.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love hanging out with kids and keeping things fun and interesting! We play outside, get crafty, bake treats (and make a mess!), read stories with silly voices, and have friendly competitions with games and puzzles. It’s all about laughter, learning, and making awesome memories together!
