Hi my name is Julia! I’m a 14 year old looking for a babysitting job. I’ve been working with my church for about 8 months now, I help with kids from 0-8 and this includes special needs children. Over the last 8 months I’ve grown a strong bond with the kids, we regularly do crafts, go outside, have reading time, and will learn. I’m always very patient with kids, Its very important to me that kids have a good experience with people older than them at a young age so that when there older they aren’t scared to talk to adults.I believe when working with children you need to have good communication skills so you can understand how they are feeling, I have always done my best with listening And talking. I’m always very upbeat with kids, if a child is crying I will do anything in my power to make them feel comfortable and safe with me. My goal at the end of the day is to make sure your kids are having a good time and learning things to make them be the best version of themselves.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am always willing to do any activities with the kids. Swimming, crafts, reading, and indoor and outdoor play. Any thing your kids enjoy I will always try my hardest to get us to be able to do it.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part is making sure the kids are have a good time. If they are acting up or being rude I will always do my best and have a calm conversation with them and try to get to the root of the problem and redirect should always be perused before any kid of discipline. Discipline as a babysitter should only ever be time outs from activities until the child is ready to reengage.

My experience with special needs children...

With my church they have a special room for the kids with special needs, this includes kids with autism, physical disabilities, and other learning disabilities. I am very comfortable with helping special needs kids and kids with any disabilities, I have many family members with special needs and I have always helped them no matter what it is.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment was when there were two little boys that came in the room crying and I noticed they had on matching shirts so instead of getting annoyed with them for crying, I first distracted them with telling them about how their shirts were matching then we talked about the characters on their shirts for a few minutes. Then after that once they were done, I finally talked to them one by one about what was bothering them and why they were crying.
