More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am an early child development specialist, highly educated and experienced in most all areas regarding children. I am not a simple babysitter. I move mountains. I use intentional practices to help create strong healthy foundational patterns for lifelong learning, health, and well being across all domains of human development. I am very good at what I do.

I have over a decade of professional experience in a licensed setting. This experience includes bilingual (Spanish) preschool teaching, a child-parent relationship specialist, early intervention, family advocacy, tutor, and above all an early child development specialist.

I am highly skilled in early intervention work, especially with focused intentional guidance of positive emotional structuring, which leads to healthier emotional/behavioral outcomes.

In short, I move mountains for your child when it is most critical to do so. In that way, they have more ability to grow into their most positive beautiful & wholesome potential!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I use an open-ended, child centered, child-led approach with skillful intention in directing attention to the teachable moment. I am highly skilled and educated in what I do. I am not a babysitter.

I am passionate about fostering childhood freedom and wonder. I especially nurture creativity and a lifelong love of learning!

I skillfully merge creativity, science, humanity, moral & emotional guidance in nearly all aspects of my practice.

During play, I love exploring the wonders of Mother Nature, music, the arts & sciences, deep breathing, and joyous movement, as well as making practical connections between sensory observations, science & human concepts.

I am exuberant, joyful, creative, intelligent & very fun!

I model enthusiasm, love and respect for life, nature, and others.

John Dewey, Montessori, Steiner, & Reggio Emilia are favored approaches that I use wisely.

I will care for, nurture and respect your child as if they were my own.
You will be delighted with my services!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The critical work we do?! What is it?

We move mountains when it needs to be done!

We cultivate positive, good, wholesome, healthy, caring human beings in the most critical time it needs to be done, early childhood.

In that way, we make the world a better place, a place worth living in. We make the future bright, successful for all, happy, good.

We make humanity positive! We cultivate positive wholesome, healthy human beings who care for their environment & other fellow human beings.

We mitigate trauma, leaving negative tendencies far behind! We breed super shining robust brilliant self-confidence that shines a light for others to follow!

We cultivate virtue! Compassion and love are not foreign words! A sense of awe and wonder for the miracles of science, biology, cosmology, physics, mathematics, but from cultures both East and West! Science is not mutually exclusive from wonder, love &compassion for living beings.

Above all, we nurture, protect and honor childhood freedom!

My experience with special needs children...

I have done much work with talented and gifted students, students with Autism, students with other special learning needs as well as with dual language learners, and immigrant and refugee children.

I highly value other cultures and respect any special cultural consideretions.

I am quite talented at drawing out the natural lingual/emotional/creative expression of children who may be shy or in need of support in expressing their selves linguistically, creatively, physically, or emotionally.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A 5 yr old was showing negative emotional and behavioral tendencies toward his 3 yr old sister. Hitting, jealousy, bullying, were becoming commonplace and habitual.

One day, after being mean to his sister, I said: "Hey, you know she is your best friend. Yeah! She is your best friend & she will be for your whole life! She loves you and follows you."

That is all I said. I did not tell him to do something (i.e. "don't be mean to your sister"). I just let him know that he had a best friend next to him.

From that moment on, his entire attitude seemed to instantly change.

Instead of constantly competing with her, he began including her in all his ideas & discoveries & inviting her to join him on adventures & explorations!

It was so beautiful, almost miraculous! From one single simple positive statement, it changed his whole perspective! He was able to adjust his entire attitude, emotions, responses & actions toward her from that moment on! Incredible!

Hello! My name is Karly and I am looking for a job as a nanny for the summer, could be longer if needed. I come from a big family and am an aunt to 11 nieces and nephews. My experience comes from my time helping nanny multiple of my nephews. Between 2019 and 2020 and Nani full-time for my nephew. I was also a nanny between 2017 and 2019, where I was a nanny for a toddler under two years old and a 10 year-old. In that role, I helped tidy the house, and take care of the children, and always made sure to take care for the children to my best ability. When I left that role in one of the comments, my prior boss said was “ the best thing about having you here as a nanny is that you truly cared about our kids.” I come from a career in law-enforcement that has recently come to a close due to being laid off. I’m looking to getting back into becoming a nanny because I coming off a hard job and would like a job that brings me joy.
