Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
When I volunteered with the Lawrence Arts Center at their Youth Art Space Camp this summer! I dealt with upwards for 20 kids at a time, ages ranging from 6 to 12 years old, including kids with extensive special needs that required my special attention.
I have also babysat up to 2 kids at a time, paid and unpaid, for over 6 hours at a time per day- starting when I was 10.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really love to assist kids with their schoolwork, with chores, and assist with trips such as zoo trips, play-place trips, etc! A favorite game of mine to play with kids is when they imagine scenarios for us to enact!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is how the family feels about you. If you're not trustworthy, if you lie, if you're on your cellphone while watching the kids, it not only proves you're bad at watching them and caring for them, but it ALSO sets a bad example for the kid themselves- child sees, child does.
My experience with special needs children...
I care for special needs children well and often, due to my exposure to others with more serious heart defects than mine. I have the most experience with Down Syndrome kids, Autistic kids at any level of functioning, kids with ADHD or ADD, and kids with trauma-based disorders, but with brief instruction I'm sure I can care for your child, too.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Was when the 5 year-old I was watching was having a long, hard day of tantrums because she was not allowed to play with her sister, home from college, instead of me. I never raised my voice, never snapped, and so the next week, she had apologized, explained herself, and wrote me a card. SO sweet, and it's so satisfying when patience pays off instead of getting angry.

I have more than eight years of babysitting experience with children ages 0-10, one year as a part time nanny for a family with three busy little boys (5, 8, and 10yo), and after this summer, three years as a camp counselor (ages 7-16/17).
Ideally, I’d love to find a family with younger children, but I am perfectly comfortable with any age. I am hoping to work a full time schedule, so I am available for school pickup/drop off. At my current nanny job, I am also responsible for taking care of a young dog, as well as light housework and very open to doing the same in another position.
My earliest availability for work is the last week of August (8/24), I work as a Program Lead at a YMCA camp in Kansas so I will be busy with that over the summer.
