A little bit about me

I have been dedicated to serving children and families for over 20 years. I have a Bachelors Degree in Social work with extensive experience as a preschool teacher, professional nanny, and social worker. I also owned and operated my own licensed home day care business.

I have a special gift with babies and children of all ages. I believe working with children is one of the most important jobs you can have since they are the future generation.

I love the outdoors, traveling, doing yoga, baking, arts and crafts, and exploring nature in any form. I believe nature is one of children's best teachers. Children learn immensely from being outdoors playing, exploring and having fun getting dirty!

I was raised in the military so I had a very unique childhood traveling the globe. I have lived in Iceland, Germany and have been to Austria, France, Australia, Holland as well as all over the United States. I have a very compassionate and loving spirit and love new adventures!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Owner and operator of licensed Home Daycare, preschool teacher at private Christian School, Headstart Social worker. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and have worked in many School and public service settings. I have had many professional nanny jobs over the years. I speak some Spanish ( not fluenty). I also know basic baby sign language. CPR and First Aid certified.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy exploring the outdoors, nature walks, arts and crafts. I love teaching children through interactive play, reading, drawing, painting, music, dancing and teaching kids yoga.

For the babies I enjoy lots of cuddles, singing, reading, sensory activities and intellectually stimulating play.

As a preschool teacher I understand the importance of play based learning. I love to bake with children and teach them basic self care skills. I love imaginary play, getting on their level and having fun! Getting outside no matter what the weather and getting little dirty doesn't bother me at all.

I love to make forts and build things when indoor play is needed. Puzzles, blocks and pretend play are great for kids of all ages! I enjoy taking children to libraries, museums and parks.

I'm great at calming fussy babies and have a gentle way of soothing them. Lots of love and snuggles is so important for infants! I'm also a pro at helping parents get children on a schedule if needed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Helping raise little humans! It's the most important job as they are our future generation. Assisting parents with their most precious gifts and watching them grow and learn. If you make a positive difference in the life of a child you've made a difference in our world.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with autism and physical disabilities. ADHD and other behavioral issues. I have also worked with abused and neglected children with emotional /speech issues.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When you see a child learn something new for the first time! I love to see the look on their faces when they have accomplished a new skill.....how excited they get! I love seeing children build confidence in themselves! I enjoy knowing I am helping parents be less stressed. I enjoy helping families succeed in their career and life goals by providing reliable and top notch childcare free of worry. I, being a mom myself understand the importance of being able to leave your child in trusted hands knowing they will be loved and cared for like family.
