I volunteered as a figure skating coach for an elementary school in Alaska, where I worked with young kids and helped them learn basic skating skills. I also took care of two kids, ages 3 and 4, for a couple of months playing with them, helping with meals, and keeping them on a routine. Lately, I also worked with a 4-year-old girl, spending time with her regularly and helping with daily care and activities for the summer in alaska.

To me, the most important part about being a nanny is helping keep kids engaged in meaningful ways while also providing a safe, supportive space for them to grow. I think it’s really important to be present, create activities that match their interests and development, and make sure they always feel secure and cared for.
