A little bit about me

Connecting with kids on their level is important to me. That’s why I am a big advocate for ‘floor play,’ including physical games, playing outside, crafts, and more.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am a mother to 4 amazing, rambunctious little ones, with my eldest daughter being 11, twin boys aged 7 and my youngest little man only 5 months old. I also had the experience to be a teachers assistant at Super Kids Jr Academy in 2015 up to 2018. I assisted a classroom with around 10-17 kiddos. I also had the greatest opportunity with getting to help raise my 3 eldest niece and nephews. My mother gained guardianship of them when I was around 8 or 9. My youngest nephew was still an infant at the time, my niece a toddler age around 2-3 and finally my oldest nephew just a couple years older at around 4-5. They had been in our care for about 10 maybe 12 years. Not long after they reunited with their mother, I had been blessed with my my first child. A little baby girl at age 20.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Have a reading marathon, Write stories together, Play sports, Paint or draw together, Create a fort in the living room out of blankets or cardboard boxes, Go on a hike, Have a sunset picnic at a park or in the yard, Play board games,

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel that there are many different important aspects to providing the best and greatest care. My first important part is having the ability to teach a child something new and watching the 'twinkle' in their eyes when they understand and seeing how proud they look. Including getting to enjoy listening to them whilst they play – how their imaginations make me smile! Next is getting the opportunity to See the children develop from babies to young people. I definitely love that I get to watch them grow, teach them new things, and celebrate each new stage in their life right alongside them. My last but not final reason, is that I get to be my own boss. Having the freedom to be able to give the children I care for the opportunities both indoors and outdoors to develop their own interests and personalities.

My experience with special needs children...

As I had mentioned earlier with helping to raise my 3 niece and nephews. It was During that time, I was able to gain an immense amount of experience working with special needs children. Because my 2 nephews were diagnosed with a disability named Fragile X. I feel so honored and blessed to have gotten the opportunity to learn and understand what it takes to help these children strive and grow. My biggest take away from this experience is that I have learned that not every disability whether it have the same name or not, requires their own personal set of needs and attention. Nobody should expect to care for every child the same. Regardless of the label presented upon them, they love, laugh and get upset just as any other person would. And Nothing boils my blood more then when people put a stigma or a label on these children as if they are from another planet or treat them as if they don’t have feelings or the capabilities to have their own thoughts and emotions.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have learned I can hold a baby, 4 toys, a bottle, a plate of fruits and vegetables, and a new box of diapers, because suddenly I have 8 hands as a nanny/parent. I also learned that I have gorilla feet and can pick up almost anything with them when need be. Being a nanny/parent doesn't just mean doing chores, it's also about bringing joy to someone's life. When you help someone else feel good, it makes you feel good, too.
