Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at a Juvenile Hall in Alaska while working for an “at risk youth” group home organization. I also volunteered at “Voices” in Napa and set up a kitchen for them so they could cook for homeless youth at the facility. I am a problem solver to the core.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy trips to the park and other outdoor activities as well as “field trips” to the museum or the zoo; age appropriate of course.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a Nanny is watching the kids grow up, just like you. (I’m not weird or obsessive though 😁). I have no children of my own, so the kids get my full attention and priority. I enjoy solid, open communication, and a clear schedule/expectation. Oh, btw, did I mention COMMUNICATION….That’s huge when you’re trusting me to help raise your children.
My experience with special needs children...
I taught Special Education at a middle school in Alaska for 3 years where I cared for several autistic kids and kids with behavioral and/or learning disabilities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite Nanny moment was when a little girl I was caring for pulled out her first tooth on the way to school. I kinda felt bad however because I wanted the parents to be there 🫤
