To me communication matters the most, with children's, the parents and the nanny or sitter as well, if the child is having an issue it is important to talk about it first before doing anything rash or ignoring it. Communication also matters between the parent and nanny, miscommunication is a huge issue that is always unintentional.

I have taken care of a 7 year old since she turned 5. who has Short Bowel Syndrome, she had to be changed every morning and night at a certain time, also ready for school in that time that I had to take care of her.
