Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything basically. If it is a no electronics (if children are too young) then I will interact with them with toys appropriate to their ages, activities like arts and crafts, swimming, running, sports, etc. and outside the house activities (with guardian permission) can include walks, playground time, rock wall climbing, sight seeing in boats or hiking (also depending on age and family’s interest)

The most important part about being a nanny...

Knowing that the nannies in the community are doing everything they can to help children learn how to take the tools they are given and thrive. Everyone deserves to be able to leave their home knowing it is safely protected alongside the children and or animals inside.

My experience with special needs children...

I am very aware that some children need a little more or different types of attention I am in a household that has a young mute autistic child and it has been amazing to be able to learn how he interacts and to see him smile every day. I am also very familiar with the subject as my mother is taking additional schooling classes specially to special needs development in and outside the classroom settings; because of this I am able to be involved in reading essays she writes and seeing the information she is given which has taught me a lot in the duration she has been involved.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was still learning how to care for special needs children, a child that had SPD, (sensory processing disorder) he did not like to be touched at all; along with other things, he came up to me and hugged me. No words just a quick hug but it was very touching to me knowing that, that action was difficult for him and he chose to hug me. Among the precious moments I’ve shared with children and their families that was the most sentimental moment I’ve had so far.
