A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Kahrisma (like the word “charisma”) ☺️. I am 21 years old.

I attended Goodwin University as a dual enrolled high school student and later enrolled at Central Connecticut State University, majoring in Biomolecular Sciences. I am currently not taking classes.

While I am professional, I am also a kid at heart. I think that is really important when working wanting to work with children because you should want to be able to bond with them and make them feel comfortable and create fun memories.

I am looking to work with an open-minded family as I do have a unique style not does not reflect poorly on my work & personality!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My childcare experience comes from family but professionally as well. I have a history of caring for my younger family members. I also had professional experience as a counselor-in-training and a Junior staff at Southwest Boys and Girls Club. There, I cared for ages 6-12. Durning the school year, I assisted the children with their homework, supervised activities to ensure a safe experience, kindly reinforced rules, resolved conflicts between members, distributed meals, and cleaned. During the summer, I did the same except there was no homework and I supervised field trips. I made sure to engage with the children to create a fun, emotionally, and physically safe environment.

I also worked at a trampoline park. There, I was a court monitor who supervised jumpers of a variety of ages to ensure a safe environment. In both jobs, I learned to work in fast paced and loud environments.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy many physically driven activities such as skating, biking, trampoline parks, and dancing. As well as more relaxed activities such as coloring, gaming, crocheting, yoga, and listening to music. I also love trying new experiences.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is having balance; ensuring the safety and well-being of the children while providing a nurturing, loving, and secure environment. Children thrive when they feel safe and supported, both physically and emotionally. Building a strong, trusting relationship where they feel comfortable to express themselves is key to helping children grow and develop in a positively.

While I currently do not have CPR or First Aid certification, I take safety very seriously and I am always vigilant when it comes to supervising children and maintaining a safe environment. I have successfully handled minor accidents and know how to react calmly in stressful situations. If hired, I am committed to obtaining CPR and First Aid certification at my earliest opportunity to further ensure the safety and well-being of the child/children in my care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments when working at the Boys & Girls Club were the constant fun and engagement I had with the children. No matter their age, I was able to connect with each child through activities that encouraged creativity, teamwork, and fun. We spent time coloring, dancing to the games “Just Dance,” playing cards and board games, and participating in gym games, which helped promote both physical activity and social interaction. I even taught them how to play pool. Whether it was through games, arts, or just spending quality time together, I loved seeing the kids grow, learn, and have fun in a positive and supportive environment.
