My experience with special needs children...
I have spent a lot of time with different children with very different needs. May it be that they communicate in their own way, I strive to learn that and speak their language. Some clients may have had different physical needs, i.e feeding G-tube, special diets, epilepsy, etc... and I know the importance of schedule & consistency that can come along with that. Every child is different and I think the most important thing is learning the dynamic of the child and caring exactly how the parents would wish.
