I have worked as a camp counselor for a highly reputable sleep away camp for the past three years. I’ve spent summers living and caring for girls aged 12-15. During that time I have also worked as a dance instructor teaching children ages 8-15 in small group classes.

The most important thing about taking care of children and being a nanny for me is making sure that the children are happy and healthy. For a family to trust you to take care of the most important people in their life is a big deal. As someone who spends a lot of time with children you impact them a lot more than you think. This past summer I lived with 14 girls and we had the best time together. My favorite memory was when it was time to go to bed and while I was walking around the cabin the girls were super quiet and so I thought they were asleep. I start walking back to my bed and all of a sudden they are all around me and we’re having a pillow fight in the dark and they are laughing and yelling and it was one of my favorites because it was one of the first nights at camp and it helped to break the ice.
