Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have done babysitting since 2022. I do offer overnights and long hours. Since I do online school hours aren't a worry for me. My schedule is very flexible as I would like to Nanny full time. I have babysat for many families in surprise and even Peoria. I've watched up to 10 kids at a time and am able to prepare meals and do a little house keeping.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Depending on the age group I have lots of activities, if they are in the grade school range I like to play trivia with the kids, which is a game where I ask simple questions (i.e how many planets are there in the solar system) and we play like jeopardy and we keep score. Sometimes I like to bring games like uno or guess who. Some kids like to play with their own toys also. I will bring coloring books and sometimes basketballs or footballs depending on what the kids or kid is interested in doing.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny to me is actually having a relationship with the kid(s) including their family. Making the kid(s) feel like they are seen and matter mean a lot. The way children are treated goes a lot into how they develop as they grow up and they take that with them into the world, so making sure kids know they matter, that they are seen/heard, and know they are important no matter what means a lot to me.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with a few kids with special needs, I have worked with kids who have autism, and down syndrome. I also have 4 cousins who have either autism or down syndrome 2 of them being non verbal.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment with a kid I've watched is when I've played dress up princesses with a little girl because her imagination was so big. She had us go on an airplane and made seats and had her stuffed animals be other passengers and she always wanted to go on fun undercover missions, they always ended with a dance party.
