Hello,

I am 32 years and I have been nannying for over 13 years with ages ranging from infants to teenagers. I have a masters degree in early childhood special education. I have been teaching in a classroom setting for over seven years. I have taught preschool, first grade and special education. I was born in Rhode Island and have lived in both Colorado and New York working with children in private and public settings . I love adventure, exploring the outdoors, art and reading. My experience with special needs children...

During my time at the University of Denver, I was able to student teach at inclusive preschools and kindergarten classrooms in different areas of Colorado. While in these classrooms, I have implemented appropriate interventions and accommodations based on observation and evaluations of student’s performance and behavior. Lastly, I feel confident in the Individualized Educational Plan process and writing documents for students with disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was a nanny for a family in Denver for three years that had two girls. My last goodbye with them really made me realize what an impact I had on them. I think it is very easy to get caught up in the day to day of life and not realize how much children look up to you. In those final hard goodbyes, I realized that not only was a huge part of their lives for the last three years but I was their family. Working on homework, making lunches and dinner, driving these little girls to sports, playing and exploring nature together really creates a special bond. I hope to keep inspiring and working with child in this way because it truly is so rewarding and impactful.
