I have nine full siblings, so I grew up babysitting and helping out due to necessity. I've volunteered at a church nursery, I've babysat family friends children, multiple days a week, for months at a time. I've taught dance lessons, ages 4-12, at a dance studio I grew up attending, and I've also volunteered at and been employed at a nursing home, which is relevant in tending to others needs and having the patience to work with an individual in need of more attentive care. I love working with children because I grew up with so many siblings and feel as though I communicate well with them.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I taught dance lessons, ages ranging 4-13, at a dance studio I grew up attending. I often volunteered at my church nursery, assisted/taught Sunday school, and would babysit a group of children at my house while the parents were doing weekly bible studies upstairs. Family friends would ask and pay me to babysit for them either on occasion when out of town, or regularly for months at a time whilst parents are working.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going on walks around the block, reading, baking (heavily supervised), coloring/drawing, crafts, playing various games around the house, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of nannying is safety, being compassionate and patient, and ensuring that any set rules are followed.

My experience with special needs children...

I've worked with children with high functioning autism, anxiety, and oppositional defiant disorder. I also feel it's relevant to mention I've worked with seniors with ranging levels of dementia, some quite severe, as well as Alzheimers, diabetes, Parkinson's, and other illnesses or impairments.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I babysat a little girl, Alice, several years ago; she had pretend makeup and would beg me to do her makeup and then let her do mine after. She loved to go on walks to the park near her house and she was extremely talkative. One of the best nannying experiences I've had because I love expressive and talkative children.
