Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I really enjoy doing creative activities with children, like making crafts where they can paint, draw, and explore their imagination. I also love reading stories to them, encouraging a love for reading while helping them develop their vocabulary and comprehension.

Another favorite activity of mine is playing educational games, like puzzles or memory games, which help stimulate their cognitive skills. I also enjoy cooking simple recipes with the kids, as it’s a fun way to teach them about food and improve their motor skills.

I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s taking a walk in the park, playing ball games, or exploring nature while talking about plants and animals. Plus, I really enjoy dancing and singing with the kids, as music and movement are great ways for them to express their emotions.

Lastly, sensory play is always fun and educational, allowing kids to explore different textures and develop their motor coordination in a fun and safe way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important part of being a nanny is providing a safe and loving environment where children can feel protected and valued. Building a bond of trust with them is essential because it allows me to understand their emotional and physical needs. I also believe it's crucial to foster their development in all areas, from cognitive to social, adapting activities to their pace and personality. Being a constant source of support and care, while ensuring parents have peace of mind, is what I value most in this role.

My experience with special needs children...

I have had the opportunity to work with children with autism, which has allowed me to better understand their needs and tailor my care on an individual basis. I focus on creating a structured and predictable environment that provides them with a sense of security. I use sensory and visual activities to help them process information in a way that is comfortable and accessible for them.

I also implement techniques to encourage communication, whether through verbal language or alternative systems, such as using pictures or gestures. I work closely with parents to ensure that strategies are consistent both at home and in other settings, aiming to support the development of social and emotional skills.

My approach is always patient and understanding, respecting their unique pace and needs while helping them achieve their goals and overcome challenges.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny was when a child I had been working with for several months finally said their first words. We had been practicing communication techniques daily, using picture cards and gestures, and I could see how hard they were trying. One day, out of nowhere, they said "thank you" after I handed them their favorite toy. It was such a small phrase, but it felt like such a huge victory. Seeing the joy on their face and knowing that I had played a part in helping them reach that milestone made me feel incredibly proud and grateful for the work I do. Moments like that remind me why I love being a nanny.
