More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started to teach karate when I was 9 and since then I have also taught dance. I have tutored and babysit for a lot of children in my town and I have taught special needs of all ages. I taught in my school district and taught pre-k as well as second grade but now I tutor for all ages. I love teaching which is why I am an early childhood education major and I hope to master in special needs education.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to play different learning activities and games. I love to do yoga with kids and work on relaxation and deep breathing. I like doing arts and crafts with students and when I tutor I really like to make in fun by doing arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, and making colorful flash cards. I also love to read with children and ask them questions about the story to get them thinking and engaged as the book as well as liking reading!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is making being someone the child can rely on and creating a fun and safe learning environment.

My experience with special needs children...

When I taught karate we used to have a class on Saturday morning that was just for special needs students and that was my favorite class! It was fun to connect with my students. I will also work 1 on 1 with some of these students so they can have my full attention in a classroom. I have taught students with ADHD, autism, down syndrome, Williams syndrome, and more. I also just took a course called "Nature of Individuals with Special Needs" in college which was a course designed to help us teachers help our students and give them the proper care they deserve.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was two years around Christmas. I went to babysit these 2 boys ages 4 and 7 and the parents had left us gingerbread houses! We had so much fun making them and in the end before the boys went to bed we just ate a bunch of. the gingerbread and watched Frosty the Snowman.

I've had the privilege of nurturing young minds, beginning as a camp counselor. My experience ranges anywhere from being a year-long live-in nanny for two young girls (including a five year old with autism) to balancing recurring weekly babysitting commitments for numerous families simultaneously. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment that fosters growth and exploration. With a natural talent for connecting with children, I delight in making learning fun through engaging activities, conversations, and play. I've honed in on my caregiving skills for well over a decade, so I'm thrilled to bring my experience and enthusiasm to your family. My goal is to build lasting memories, create a sense of security, and inspire a love of learning that will stay with your little ones forever.
