More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a camp counselor for 4 years between Middle and High School, caring for children daily between the ages of infancy-11 years old. I also was a peer leader with Freshmen in my senior year of HS, and have gone on the be an RA for the past 4 years in university.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
One of my favorite activities to do with children is reading and/or arts and crafts! I love to read, so it is always an enjoyable activity whatever the genre. I also love art, and still to this day color/paint, and have found hobbies in other crafts such as crocheting, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Having an open mind and being sensitive to all cultures, etc. No one child is the same, and it is important to me to be culturally aware in order to cater to the needs of the child and the family to the best of my ability.
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have experience with special needs children. I am sensitive to the needs and personalities of all people I come across, and interact with special needs young adults on a weekly/monthly basis as an RA at my university--but outside of the training I have received in the last 4 years, I do not have any special experiences/qualifications in this field.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was the first time I babysat a newborn/infant. It was such a special experience, and truly eye opening to learn the ins and outs of caring for a child early on in my life.
