I absolutely love being outside and try to keep kiddos outside as much as possible. I love doing arts and crafts outside, heading to the beach or park, swimming, playing sports, etc. Whatever the kiddos are interested in, I am all for it!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I used to be a swimming instructor and one of my duties with one of my kids, was helping him become more comfortable in the water and learning to swim. We spent many weeks just stepping into the pool, having him gain more confidence that there was nothing to be afraid of - with his own time frame of how he wanted to do it. I comforted his fears, showed him it was okay, and continued to be patient with him. One day, towards the end of the summer, he had his swim life jacket on and I sat down on the side of the pool while he began to walk to the diving board. I looked over, and he jumped right into the deep end, like I showed him all summer. Everyone cheered him on and the grin on his face made my entire summer. Kids need to feel comfortable and some accomplish things on their own time, without being rushed. It takes a patient and supportive person to aide children who are fearful of certain things and I am happy I got to help him overcome his fear.
