More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have had so many experiences, starting from the age of 12. I am now 19, let me tell you where I have been and where I am now. I started working for the childcare at my church watching kids from the ages of infant to 13 years old. This position was more of a babysitting position. however, it allowed me to babysit for a different families and get an idea of what it would be like to be a babysitter full-time or even a nanny. After this, I went on to do work for City of sparks as a before and after worker, as well as a summer break counselor. This taught me a valuable lesson of how to interact and have fun with older age groups: kinder to 6th grade. then in the past year, I’m two more daycare work while still babysitting on the side. Being a daycare teacher has taught me the most. I worked with infants to pre-k, specializing in toddlers. I went from assist toddler teacher to lead toddler teacher in less than 6 months. Nothing has been more rewarding than see my kids grow and be happy.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love working through problems with children. Meeting them where they are at to help them get where they need to be. I have that as being lead in the toddler classroom. I work with 20 different personalities on the daily so I have to meet each kid at the level in which they are on to help the succeed in the best ways possible for them. More than that I love being a kid with my kids. Playing games, running around, learning, teaching, dance parties, and so much more

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me the most important part is becoming a constant person for the kids. I want to be someone they can rely on to teach them but also to play hide and seek with them. The most important thing I have learned in my children care experience is the balance of “work and play” with kids and meeting them at their level. If you meet a kid at their level then they will respect you and having the “work and play” balance almost forms its self

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with shaken baby syndrome, down syndrome, and autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

my favorite thing when working with children is when you build a connection with that child. For example, when I used to babysit this six-year-old boy, we would go get ice cream every Friday and it was our little thing. Something that we could both look forward to, and it made me feel more than just some stranger who was watching him while his parents were at work. those are the kind of moments when being a nanny that you feel connected to both the kids and their lifestyle more than just someone who’s watching them.

Hi everyone!
I am a senior at UNR, working to achieve my bachelor's degree in Psychology and Human Development and Family Sciences. My long-term goal is to provide therapy for children and families! I actively volunteer as a coordinator for Camp Kesem and most recently spent my summer as a camp counselor for the kiddos we serve in the community. I have experience working as a full-time nanny for four young boys and loved the months I spent with them, and would love the opportunity to serve more families!
