Hi, I'm Katie. I am the second oldest of 7 siblings and have always had a natural gift and desire to work with kids. Some of my best qualities are being dependable, attentive, patient, empathetic, nurturing, solution oriented and having the ability to remain calm and clearheaded in otherwise tense and stressful situations. I take great pride in everything I do. I am always willing to help out around the house and operate best with a routine but also adapt well to change. I enjoy finding creative ways to pass time and prefer to be active rather than still. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

- I cared for 3 boys ages 2, 7 & 9 after school while their parents enjoyed nights out and attended work events.
- I cared for a 12 y/o girl fulfilling all the essentials to get her ready for her day and safely transporting her to school while her Mom was at work.
- I cared for an adorable 2 y/o little girl during the week (7:30am-5pm) while her parents were at work.
- I devoted my days and nights to my great aunt for 3 years before she sadly passed away, taking care of her in a motherly role due to her limited mobility and health conditions.
- I intimately cared for my younger siblings for many years as my Mom was a single mother and was often not home.
- I worked as a CNA where I cared for elderly adults that required the same attention and care as young children do.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts & crafts where we can build/make something and be creative, fun learning games/activities, doing cute hairstyles, going for walks, roller-blading, bike riding, sports, going to the park, and using our imagination. I enjoy anything that is fun and active!

I have not cared for a child with special needs, however, I have cared for many adults with both physical and mental disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my fondest memories was playing hide-and-seek in the dark using a flashlight with the three boys I cared for weekly. We turned all the lights off in the house and I'd carry Eli (he was 2) while we hid from his older brothers, or "found" them. It was their first time playing this way, and they'd ask to play this game every afternoon. I'd feed them a snack afterwards and read them each a book before tucking them in their beds and saying goodnight. We had a lot of fun!

It may seem simple, but seeing how much they enjoyed playing this game was very rewarding.
