A little bit about me

Hello my name is Katie and I’m 23 years old! I have worked in childcare for almost 3 years now. I have worked with infants for 2.5 of them and I absolutely love it! I have also been a babysitter to family and friends since I was 13 years old. I I am currently a co lead of an infant classroom 6 months to a year and was previously a co teacher for young infants 6 weeks to 6 months. In my usual day I take care of 8 infants so I’m used to taking care of and handling the schedule of multiple children. In my job currently I implement curriculum and crafts as well as changing diapers, supervising play and nap as well as meals and feeding the infants their bottles. I am CPR and First aid certified. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked in 2 daycare settings. The first was a small family center where I was a solo teacher with 5 infants from 6 weeks to a year and half. The second center was a bigger corporate center where I was a floater for 7 months and then became an assistant toddler teacher to 12 toddlers for 2 months with the ages 1 1/2 to 2 years old. I was then transferred to the young infant room because I had infant experience where I worked with 6 infants for 4 months as a co teacher where I worked with the ages 6 weeks to 6 months. In December of 2021 I was put into the older infant room to take over as the assistant where I worked with the ages 6 months to 1 year and had 8 infants. I became the co lead in the older infant room in January 2022 where we continue to have 8 infants.

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t currently have any experience with special needs children but I am willing to learn.
