More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I spent two years as a school counselor at a middle school in southern Wisconsin and previously interned at middle school and elementary school levels. I taught elementary students for two years virtually and in the classroom at a variety of learning styles and levels. I worked in civic education programming for two years with high school and middle school students. Additionally, I have a background in teaching sewing and fashion design classes for children aged 8-14.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing games - board games, card games, make believe, and more! I am a big fan of crafting and I can show kids many different skills, like crocheting or watercolor painting. I love to explore the outdoors by walking, hiking, biking, or even picnicking. Dancing, reading, and baking are my hobbies, but I’m also teaching myself chess and taking golf lessons. I am not the greatest at catching a baseball, but I can definitely handle a soccer ball.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with many children who have disabilities. This includes ASD, ADHD, Anxiety, Anorexia, Depression, ODD, OCD, Selective Mutism, and PTSD. I have experience working with kids who have a medical condition and/or a physical disability. I have some experience in working with children who have an intellectual disability or developmental delay. I have helped these children by acting as an advocate when they are not receiving an accommodation and giving them the space to share their experiences with others.
