My name is Kathleen (KC), born and raised in D.C., and I’ve been blessed to serve in the Child Love Field for 34 years as a childcare business owner, nanny, and teacher. This work has been a priceless journey, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. For me, it always starts with the heart.

This spring, I’ll be graduating at the top of my class in Clinical Psychology, which has added even more depth and understanding to the way I support children and families.

Ideally, your family would be located on the North Side of Jacksonville. I also support parent date nights and short vacations when needed. Our interview would be a two‑way experience, with your children included, so we can all get a feel for the connection.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve had the joy of journeying with well‑known childcare organisations such as Kinder Care, La Petite, Child time, and Amazing Explorers. My youth leadership experience includes serving as a Boy Scout parent leader, Girl Scout leader, church youth ministry leader with Fortress, and a substitute fourth‑grade teacher. I was also blessed to operate my own licensed family childcare centre for 17 years, supporting children and families with consistency, structure, and heart.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I’ve been part of a tremendous variety of activities throughout this journey. Some favourites include berry picking, treasure hunts at museums and botanical gardens, and exploring local art galleries. I love creating out‑of‑the‑box experiences for kids—like attending jazz concerts designed for young listeners, beach combing for hidden treasures, and checking out monthly events at recreational centres. Every adventure becomes a chance to learn, laugh, and grow together.

The most important part of being a nanny is witnessing how invested parents are in spending real time listening to, caring for, and connecting with their children and with each other. That kind of family teamwork makes all the difference, and it’s an honour to support it.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the greatest blessings in my journey has been watching the children I’ve cared for grow into incredible adults. Many of the young people who once rode in my car have gone on to earn full‑ride college scholarships, start their own businesses, graduate from college, and build families of their own.

And one of my favourite nanny moments of all time was seeing my very first childcare student win Mrs. Maryland and go on to compete for Mrs. USA. Moments like these remind me why I love this work and why I pour my heart into every child I meet. Thank you God!
