More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as an Art Camp Counselor for many years, where I had to instruct and get to know large groups of children (ages ~3 to 10) During this time, I got to know and each child and learned how to cater to their specific needs and helped them where needed. I also was responsible for ensuring they were carefully picked up and dropped off, and was responsible for their safety for 8+ hours of the day.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy painting with children, showing them how to do crafts and small activities. I also have a past with sports so I can do and encourage outdoor activities with them. I also know how to cook, which I find gives the children something to focus on that they may be interested in, and can ultimately eat (Of course, all cutting and actual cooking will be done by me, but helping out with measuring and watching usually has them feeling accomplished). I also enjoy reading, studying (as I am in college) and would be more than happy to help with any homework or personal studying they’d like to do.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Ensuring the child is safe and happy, and that all situations are handled the best way they could be. As the adult responsible, the most important thing is staying responsible, knowing the responsibility you have and responding to situations appropriately.

My experience with special needs children...

While working as a Camp Counselor, I was responsible for many children with special needs- Many of which had Anxiety, ADHD or were Autistic. I also have personal experiences with both ADHD and Autusm and am very familiar with the process of deescalating overstimulation, meltdowns and other complications that come with special needs. I also am more than willing to work with both you and your children on the specific needs of your child, I am very patient when it comes to these thing.
