Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I did an internship at Narragansett Elementary school in a first grade classroom. My senior year of high school I would get my neighbors kids off the bus from school everyday and watch them. I currently teach ages 2-8 year old dance classes at iDance Academy in North Kingstown. Past two summer I have work at a tennis camp teaching 4-10 year olds tennis.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing outside on swing sets or drawing with chalk. Going on bike rides or walks. Making arts and crafts or playing games. I also love making fun silly dances with kiddos .
The most important part about being a nanny...
I love kids and working with kids. I love to laugh and have fun with them. I am just a big kid at heart so I absolutely love playing with dolls or creating fun and creative games to play with kids. I love the relationships you can build with kiddos with the opportunity of being a nanny.
My experience with special needs children...
My senior year of high school I worked with the special needs department. I would stay after school to do activities with a non verbal girl at my high school. I was helping in peer Spanish classes working with students who had all sorts of special needs. As well as peer physical education with the same students.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I would get my neighbors kids off the bus everyday after school got out. There was a boy in 5th grade and a girl in 1st grade. I loved trying to be creative and incorporate what activity the little girl wanted to do and what activity the boy wanted to do. I loved the days we got to spend playing outside when it was nice out.
