I am also an "afternoon teacher" at a YMCA preschool in my hometown, where have I worked for over 3 years. I am certified in CPR, First Aid, and Medicine Administration. I have also been trained in diabetes management and worked as a 1 on 1 para last summer for a child with diabetes. I love working with kids and I intend on studying elementary education in college! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I work as a student teacher at the Hamden High Nursery School and an afternoon teacher at a YMCA preschool. I also spent this past summer working at a summer school program specifically for children with a range of disabilities and special needs. I've taken several child development and education courses.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to make sure children have the chance to be active and preferably get outside (whether its going for a walk or taking them to the park). I also enjoy giving children open-ended crafts and activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I make it my priority for children to feel safe and comfortable despite their parents not being with them. I always want kids to have fun and feel supported.

My experience with special needs children...

While I hope to gain more experience working and caring for special needs to children, I had brief experience this summer working at summer school program (ESY) for students with disabilities. I have also taken intro level special ed courses.
