A little bit about me

My name is Katie Gibbons. I am 21 years old wrapping up my degree at Stonehill College. I have been a babysitter since the age of 13 where I started as a mother’s helper. I have experience with all ages of children and children with disabilities. I absolutely adore children and I fill every summer, break, or really anytime with a nannying job and babysitting. When I lived at school I babysit 5 mornings a week for two different families back to back. I love to engage with kids coming up with new ideas, going outside, and channeling my inner kid so they feel as though we are friends and they enjoy their time with me as a sitter!!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to find creative activities for children that are outside of the "norm." My favorite activity I created this summer for one of my families was a sensory table with things such as shaving cream, rice, water, and more. This was something that was so random but the kids had so much fun doing it. I also love finding local events at libraries or playgrounds as a change of scenery for the kids!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I was first leaving for college as a freshman. My nanny family whom I have been with for years during the summer was so upset about this. The girls were crying and so sad but I made a promise I would come back and see them all the time. A week later I surprised them and came home to watch their sporting events. The scream and surprise look on their faces when they saw me was a true reminder why I love being a nanny
