A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Katie! I've had experience in babysitting for years, but have never received payment because it was for family members. The ages I’ve babysat for range from one through six years old. I recently received my CPR/AED certificate and if not already done so through this website, I’m willing to have a background check! At family/friend events I’m normally ‘assigned’ baby/kid duty so the ‘grown ups’ can have a break… we sometimes will play hide and seek, tag, play with their toys, etc. – whatever the kids want to do (if safe) I’m up for anything! The only downside is that I don’t have a car…so if the kids want to go to the park or do anything that involves leaving the house, these activities need to be within walking distance. My schedule is very flexible and I'm available to start at the earliest opportunity!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

At family/friend events I’m normally ‘assigned’ baby/kid duty so the ‘grown ups’ can have a break… we sometimes will play hide and seek, tag, play with their toys, etc. – whatever the kids want to do (if safe) I’m up for anything!

Also, when I was younger my mother would babysit for friends of hers and I would come along. I learned from her the compassion and patience it takes to take care of toddlers and infants. She taught me how to comfort them, teach them, and play with them while keeping to their schedules. I also have experience with my family; my niece is 4 years old, I have babysat her multiple times since she was young and I have two young cousins that are 3 and 5 years old and I have experience of watching them as well!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Depending on the child's age, I love to play hide and seek, tag, play with their toys, sidewalk chalk art/drawing/coloring (overall arts and crafts), building forts, playing "I Spy", going to the park, etc.

The most important aspect of being a nanny is ensuring the safety and well-being of the child/children, encouraging a nurturing and supportive environment, and building strong and trusting bonds with them!

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments happened this past Christmas. My cousin’s two year old and her friend's one year old were so happy when I held them both at the same time and danced. They didn’t want me to put them down. Their continuous giggles brought me so much joy!
