Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My recent experience included 3+ years working at a west boca raton, higher end preschool. I worked there following my high school graduation in 2015 with my teaching certifications and verifications already completed. I have my ECPE, VPK, ECC, CPR/AED, and other DCF verifications up to date. I taught 3/5 year olds prominently but have experience from the school working with infants -2 year olds as well. I currently have just left this summer due to my personal schedule changing and full time teaching just doesn’t fit in, sadly. I steadily babysat and have a main nanny job for this summer break and looking forward to becoming an after school head counselor in the fall for a boca elementary school. I am eager to meet new families for a long term or even causal caretaker being immediately if our schedules fall together.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I can make an activity/game out of anything and anywhere. It is a magic skill I’ve picked up from teaching. On a rainy day cooped up inside with 20 +preschoolers anything can be turned into fun entertainment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
to me personally, I feel that i need to have a family that clicks and connects instantly and easily from the start. When everything clicks together, it makes the job not feel so much like a formal job, but an addition to the family and a role model the children look forward to being and growing with. It makes everyone happier overall and the bond forms into a long term/lifelong natural one
My experience with special needs children...
Being a teacher allowed me to be introduced to many types of children with a variety of special needs. I have worked with and shadowed many who are on the spectrum somehow and my heart holds a special place for them. I find myself leaning towards jobs who have children with special needs. I am still gaining experience with one on one personal care but overall have worked closely with a variety of special needs children and for the most part understand what they need and easily find myself providing the extra patience and love naturally.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I absolutely can not pick a single moment, nannying is more personal to me and has a stronger bond with a couple children I can focus on and give all my love and effort to. It’s so heart warming when the children randomly chat about you when your absent and remember little details of things I like or retell stories to their parents what we did during the day and what made them happy.
