I have been around children my entire life my grandmother was and still is a nanny, so we would have to help out with the children sometimes. I have a two year old daughter and a three year old son. I’m an educator who wants to get involved with my community. At 16 I got a position at my local art center. I ran art classes for elementary school aged children and during the summer, I instructed art camps for children ages 2-15 years old. I supplemented my work by dedicating 100 hours each year until I graduated volunteering with kids. Post high school from 18-19, I have taught 2-3 year olds as a preschool teacher for two school years where I identified and managed mental and behavioral health, potty trained students, and taught educational and emotional development. When I moved to Chicago 19, I became an assistant teacher and worked in two classrooms at the same school with infants 0-2 and 4-5 year olds. When the school year ended, I started at the Chicago Children’s Museum as a Play and Learning Facilitator and an art workshop instructor for the season until I became a store manager at 21 years old. I am currently still 21 ready to leave store management and work with kids again.
