A little bit about me

My name is Katrina Johnson, and I am a 37 year old mother of 3 teenagers. When my children were little, I never allowed anyone other than myself to be their caregivers because I couldn't fathom the thought of someone mistreating my loves. Children are precious and should be loved, cared for and treated with the same respect as adults. For me, caring for children while their parents work is not about the money. It is about making sure that the parent knows their child is in the best of hands and will be given the same love and care that they themselves give to their children. I have seen countless videos of children being abused by their caretakers and it absolutely breaks my heart because children are sweet and innocent, and no one, especially a child, should have to endure such treatment. That is the reason that i decided to become a fulltime nanny. If I can save even one child from falling into the hands of a negligent caregiver, then I am happy. I would rather go home completely exhausted from caring for 20 children before I allow one child to be mistreated by someone else who is only in it for the money. While a child is in my care, they won't just be sat in front of a television all day. We will engage in a variety of productive activities such as reading books, coloring, learning the alphabet, learning how to count, and if allowed by the parent, going outside and learning about nature. I also assist in potty training, teaching children the basic know how's in life such as how to button clothes, tie shoes, brush teeth, make their beds and clean up. I take great pride in caring for children so that parents can go to work to provide for their families worry free.
