A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Kaya! I recently graduated High school and I am currently taking a gap year before starting college next fall. I grew up in New York City and worked part-time at a daycare/preschool all four years of high school.
I also babysat for multiple families with children of varying ages throughout high school.
I am CPR and First Aid certified and can assist in cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, homework, and outings.

My focus is on giving your child a safe, routine-focused, and creative space to learn and grow into a wonderful person. I love doing arts/crafts, pretend play, music making, baking, encouraging independent time, and special weekly outings when appropriate. I’m firm but kind, see every child as their own person with specific wants/needs, and will work with you on any challenges your child may come to.
In my free time I play electric bass and piano, write poetry, read, practice german/spanish, explore the city, paint, and see friends.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I babysat for a family with four kids (ages 6, 8, 10, and 13) for two years. Every time I entered their house the kids would welcome me with a silly a face or pose before “attacking me” with hugs. Another great moment with that family was helping the 8 year old girl choreograph a cheer routine for her friends at her birthday party.
