Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing various crafts and art projects with children, most of which work on their fine motor skills. Singing and dancing are one of my favorites for practicing gross motor skills. And lastly pretend play to help children keep a healthy imagination!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is being a safe and reliable person for the child(ren) aside from their parents. It really does take a village and having safe, understanding, and caring adults to not only go to but to also watch and learn from is so important for children to have!
My experience with special needs children...
I have alot of experience with children that have special needs! Between learning from my mom throughout the years whom is an autism specialist, to being a para myself and having the opportunity to meet some very wonderful children, I have alot of experience with many different disabilities and needs. Every child needs specific learning/teaching approaches regardless of diagnoses and background, and with some thinking outside of the box and dedication anything is possible and can be achieved! Learning together as you go is such a beautiful experience!
The most important part about being a nanny...
While I haven't been a nany I have been a teacher for young children for many years off and on! While it is very difficult to pick just one favorite moment, however one of my favorite moments was when a parent came to me asking if I was the one teaching the children new sign language signs and then telling me how amazing it was to have their little one come home and teaching them all these new signs. Then told me how much their child enjoyed what I was teaching them and talked about it all the time at home!
