A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Kayla!
I am a creative, fun loving, cultured and well rounded nanny who has a passion for inspiring the global learners and leaders of tomorrow! My childcare philosophy draws from a diverse range of influences, but I am most fond of the “Visible Child Method.” I do my best to stay informed on relevant childcare practices and media while taking into account your personal beliefs, traditions, and background. As a nanny I find that simple and consistent daily/weekly schedules that consist of both rest and play periods are the most effective when caring for children at any age. To quote one of my favorite childcare books “Children are people now.” And as parents/guardians, I can promise you, under my care, your children will feel nurtured, confident, and capable.

Note: I am relocating to Long Beach in May 2020 and will be available to begin then.
At this point my services are Ideal for expecting families, families with a nanny who will be moving/graduating in May of 2020.

I believe my work experience with larger groups of children is a terrific advantage when it comes to working with families; Being familiar with/ great at scheduling, seeing, using, and developing educational tools and resources first hand, and learning how to connect with children who have a wide variety of experiences, interests and skills!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing to remember about being a nanny, is that your influence directly impacts the way the children you care for are able to learn and grow. One must be balanced, neutral, and confident. That being said, it’s also important to remember that No situation is perfect. No day is perfect, no person is perfect, no activity is perfect. In moments when you fail, you must have the wisdom to not only learn the lesson, but teach the lesson. Without failure, there is no growth and growth means finding more ways to teach and inspire the young minds you have been chosen to care for.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for three special needs individuals ages 12-17.

14 year old girl with Rhett Syndrome (non-verbal, intellectually disabled, limited mobility, living assistance).

17 year old girl with Autism (social cues, behavioral assistance, living assistance)

15 year old boy with Autism (social cues, intellectually disabled, behavioral assistance)

I approach all of my clients and their families with love and compassion with the ultimate goal of trying to make the absolute most of your child/loved ones life through public outings, at home skill-building, and through advocacy work that inspired and uplifts clients and families.

Brynn P. - Seeking Work in Mountain View

Babysitter Available in Mountain View, CA: Brynn P.

Hi! My name is Brynn and I am an adventurous and creative 19 year old with a love for working with children. As an older sister, I've been caring for children from a young age and I quickly began to babysit for my neighbors and family friends.
I have also been tutoring for 6 years and, if needed, would love to support your child with their homework or additional learning, especially in subjects such as Spanish, math, and science. Additionally, I have experience volunteering in an elementary school as well as in sports-based summer camps.
My focus is on giving children a fun and safe space to learn, play, and be themselves! I love spending time outdoors by going on walks and to the playground, as well as having fun creatively through pretend-play, crafts, and toys. In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my pets (a bunny and a leopard gecko), cooking and baking, reading, and hiking with my friends.
