A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Kayla, and I have 4–5 years of experience working with children of different ages and needs. I’ve worked in an early intervention center with toddlers ages 2–3 with developmental disabilities, an elementary school supporting children with autism, and as a private nanny/babysitter for children ages 1–6.

I’m comfortable caring for both neurotypical and neurodivergent children and have experience supporting transitions, big emotions, learning, play, and independence. I’m patient, attentive, hands-on, and love getting to know each child and what works best for them.

I’m currently studying Communication Sciences and Disorders with the goal of becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist. Working with children is something I genuinely love, and I’m looking for a part-time position where I can build a great relationship with both the children and their family!

I like making a visual schedule and doing different activities for set amounts of times! This would of course be in collaboration with the parents of things they may want their child to work on or activities they enjoy.

Being a nanny is more than just your presence, it is also about assistance, motivating them, helping children develop independence, and teaching young children important skills that they will need throughout their adolescence and the rest of their lives. Surrounding your child with a positive influence is one of the best things you can do for them.

My favorite nanny moments are when I help a child build on a new skill and they finally get it! I love working on developmental skills through play and everyday routines, and I’m always so proud of them when I see their progress. It means a lot to me knowing I get to make a positive impact during such important years of their development and be there for those little moments when they realize they can do something new.
