A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Kayla, I am 18 years old and I currently work as a special education paraprofessional, which has really strengthened my patience, empathy, and ability to connect with children who have unique needs. I’ve worked with children for about 4 years of all age groups, I’m also a pre nursing student, and I plan to specialize in labor and delivery one day, so caring for others is something I’m truly passionate about.
I love creating a safe, fun, and structured environment for kids where they can learn, laugh, and feel supported. I’m very dependable, good with routines, and naturally calm in high-energy or stressful situations. I’m looking for a nanny position that allows me to use my caregiving experience while saving up for school and continuing to build my future in nursing

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were through my two years in Early Childhood Education, where I gained hands-on experience in child development and classroom support. I’ve also worked with my city’s youth programs, including Kids Kamp, after-school programs, and community events, where I supervised children, planned fun activities, and ensured their safety.

Currently, I work as a Special Education Paraprofessional with K–2 students. I support both verbal and nonverbal children and am familiar with assistive communication devices like talk pads. These roles have strengthened my patience, creativity, and ability to connect with children of all abilities in a positive and nurturing way.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love keeping kids active and creative! Outdoors, I enjoy doing things like going for walks, playing tag, visiting the park, or organizing small group games that get everyone involved. Indoors, I like doing arts and crafts, reading stories, helping with homework, or setting up sensory and learning activities that fit each child’s age and interests. My goal is always to make playtime both fun and meaningful — something that helps them grow and feel confident.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where children can be themselves and feel cared for. It’s about showing up with patience, empathy, and reliability every day — not just supervising, but truly connecting. To me, being a nanny means supporting the whole child: their growth, their confidence, and their sense of security while also making sure parents can trust that their children are in good hands.

My experience with special needs children...

I currently work as a Special Education Paraprofessional with K–2 students, where I support both verbal and nonverbal children. I have experience assisting with communication tools like talk pads and providing one-on-one support to help each child succeed academically, emotionally, and socially. My experience has taught me patience, flexibility, and the importance of meeting every child exactly where they are. I truly enjoy helping children feel seen, supported, and celebrated for who they are.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I watched two little girls one morning, we made pancakes together for breakfast and then played a card game called “Trash.” It was such a simple day, but it reminded me how much joy there is in those everyday moments. Cooking with them, laughing over the game, and seeing how proud they were of their pancakes made me realize how much I love helping kids feel happy, independent, and cared for.
