Hi- My name is Kayla, I am a newly dental assistant graduate and plan on continuing my education in multiple areas of study. I am CPR certified and I love kids! I often help babysit my younger cousins as well as a family friend’s foster children. My sophomore and junior years of high school I took child development 1 and 2 classes which included teaching preschool kids and caring for a baby project! This was my favorite part of school. I also mentored grade school kids from K- 5th grade which was apart of my child development courses, this usually included kids with disabilities or problems in school or at home. I enjoy being an ear for kids and knowing that I’ve made their day much better, I’m currently in a foster parent program and hope to become a foster parent soon.

I did and internship at Westowne elementary school and I worked in a variety of classes and age groups. My favorite class was the kindergarten special needs class. We would sing and dance and teach the children manners. I loved watching them smile.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love using praise phrases like “good job!” Or “you did it!” My favorite moment was when I was babysitting a 2 year old and she finally went potty by herself I praised her and told her how proud me and her parents were of her and ever since she runs and tells me when she goes all by herself!
