Hi, my name is Kayleigh and I have been working as a full time nanny for over fifteen years. It is truly the best job I have ever had and I put my heart into it. My nanny style is parental unit and I am a big proponent of the Montessori method and nature based learning. I strive to create a routine and schedule that focuses on reaching milestones and helps children grow to be happy and healthy. My free time is often spent crafting, going on nature walks/hiking, reading and spending quality time with my family and friends. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked as a full time nanny for several families, have worked as an after school nanny, have worked in a church day care program and an after school program at a small private school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Daily walks and play time outside typically no matter the weather , weekly field trips to the library, park, zoo, museums etc., reading lots of books, listening to music and dancing, sensory activities, creative and imaginary play, art projects.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel really proud of the work I do and try to do my part to help shape children into loving, smart, kind and open minded individuals who will do good in this world. It’s a huge responsibility and I value the trust that is put in me to uphold a family’s parenting style etc. it’s a really rewarding field to work in. I think the most important part is communication and working with the parents towards the same goals. My goal is to do all that I can to make the family’s lives easier, run smoothly and help care for the children in the best way possible.

My experience with special needs children...

I have limited experience with children with special needs. I have mostly dealt with behavioral issues. While at first I found it challenging, it became a great learning experience for me and a challenge I was happy to work through. I am open to learning more and more to better assist families.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think watching children reach milestones is my favorite moment or moments I come across. For example, those first instances of communication with them through either sign language or verbally where they are the ones communicating to you is just wow, such a cool moment to be a part of!
