A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Kaylie and I have been babysitting/Nannying and Working in childcare since 2017. I began with only babysitting for family and then quickly found a love for teaching and helping families and children, so I became CPR and first aid certified in order to work outside of my family; I have YPT training as well from working at camp over the summer. I am an early childhood/ elementary education major with a creative writing minor and an English focus. I also worked at a scouts BSA camp over the summer and plan on continuing to do so while in college. I am the oldest of five children, so I have no issues taking care of large amounts of children. Since I am an education major in school I am more than willing to tutor and help with homework regardless of age group/subject. Feel free to ask me for any further information as well!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am an early childhood/ elementary education major, I volunteer with children twice a week, I have babysat/nannied since 2017, I am also a Teachers Aid in an elementary school as well as doing internships in an elementary school for my major.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing anything the children want to do, within reason of course. I am willing to take children to parks or even just outside to play outdoor games or go for walks. I am also super creative with indoor games! I am open to any ideas the children or parents may have.
I love crafts, playing with chalk outside, going to playgrounds, building forts. Really anything :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny to me is the children. I always want to do what is best for them. It is my passion to help children and families, therefore I am my happiest when I know the children, I am caring for are happy and learning. I know they are not always going to be happy and there will be learning and growing moments but at the end of the day as long as we are working together and not against one another, and they are learning from their mistakes, then that is what is the most important thing to me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a young cousin who has Down syndrome that I helped care for on multiple occasions.
I also volunteer at many different childcare places with my school and many of which have various learning disabilities/are special needs. I do what works best for the child and/or what the family has determined works best for said child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment had to be when I was nannying a baby girl around 10.5 months old. We were practicing walking with a walker with her mom every day since she was able to pull herself up and independently stand. We were doing this practice in their living room, and I removed the walker when she was halfway between us. She then took her first steps to her momma! It was the most amazing and fulfilling moment I have ever had the honor to be a part of.
